Here are a few myths about website's:

  • Guarantee an increase in sales
A good website should help increase your sales, but there is no guarantee. A website should be considered a part of the overall marketing plan for a business. When used in conjunction with other marketing, a good web site should improve your sales.
  • Easy to get to top of search results
Today it takes a lot of work, time and luck to get your site listed in the first page of a major search engine like Google. You may get there on some obscure keyword(s) that your customers may never use. Be very cautious of anyone that tells you they can get you on the first page of Google.
  • Does not need updating
There is no requirement to update your website, but if it never changes, there is no reason for clients to return. Any site with events, dates or specials needs to keep the site updated and current. No one wants to see out of date items like: "Our special ends 11/11/1999"

The bottom line: Your website is part of your business plan and must be updated and changed with the business.
